  1. Mary cared about all people especially the poor. Mary wanted all the poor to go to school so the could learn. Mary began her first school in an old stable. Other young women came to help Mary. All children were allowed to got their school. On the 19th of March Mary started the sisters of St Joseph. Mary visited the poor and sick. Mary was kind to everyone.

Mary dedicated her life to doing God’s work and all children no matter how rich or poor they were they were welcome into St Joseph’s school which provided them with free catholic education. Mary also opened an orphanage for children without parents and a safe home for young women. The sisters visited people in jail and people who were sick and poor. Mary was always kind. She died on the 8th of August 1909.Mary had a strong faith in God and was very brave. She was made Australia’s first saint on the 17th of October 2010.
