The Life Cycle of a Frog

This term we are being scientists and as a class we are inquiring into the life cycles of different animals and how these are interdependent on each other.

We started with the life cycle of the frog. This week in writing we have been exploring this life cycle and we have made a movie about it. We started with writing a story board and then we learnt hot to create a movie using Photo Story.

Grade 3/4 watch the videos our class has made. Then leave constructive feedback about how everyone has used ‘the Arts’ (movie making) to communicate their learning.

  6. Great job Samantha, Ava, Taya and Edwina I really liked how you used a nice loud and clear voice. I also liked all of your pictures and you had some really good information. Well done girls!!!

  7. Hi El, Bridget and Elly,
Although I find frogs to be a little slimy and don’t really like them much (i’m a little scared of them!!!) your photo story was quite interesting and gave me a good understanding of how they come to be the way that they are. I did not know they could lay that many eggs at once – I suppose that explains why there are so many of them!!! I am amazed to see how they start out and then what they actually become when fully grown…..Well done girls I enjoyed the presentation.

  8. My first visit to your blog and I am wanting to learn more! You were not only able to teach me that a frog grows its back legs first but you have also been on the news!!! You are legends… but I have always known that!!
    Go 3/4LB

  9. Awesome work Bridget, Elly and El I like how you spoke at the same time at the start, but when you speak speak more louder.

  10. Well done Ava, Taya, Samantha and Edwina.
I really liked your pictures and the way you spoke clearly, maybe next time Edwina could say a part as well.

  11. I think this is a great idea to incorporate a fun activity for the students that involves them in creating something and using a high level in Blooms Taxonomy. I think that assignments like these help ideas stick in student’s brains better, rather than a basic lecture. I know when I go into teaching I hope to have lessons that allow students to create things. With technology becoming an integral part of the classroom, having students create videos and uploading them onto the internet to be shared, I believe is extremely valuable because of the interaction with the technology. Well done.

  12. Great job everyone! All of the videos were set up well and easy to follow. The sound was very clear and the pictures went great with the dialog! keep up the great work!

very interesting and informative. I find frogs erky, let me tell you why, once when I was sitting by a pond in a park a tiny slimy frog landed on my shoulder and frightened me so much I screamed so loud I nearly collapsed! ๐Ÿ™ I guess it scarred me for life. Loved your presentation, look forward to more photo stories.
